Sparse Hopfield network reconstruction with $\ell_{1}$ regularization

چکیده
We propose an efficient strategy to infer sparse Hopfield network based on magnetizations and pairwise correlations measured through Glauber samplings. This strategy incorporates the l1 regularization into the Bethe approximation by a quadratic approximation to the log-likelihood, and is able to further reduce the inference error of the Bethe approximation without the regularization. The optimal regularization parameter is observed to be of the order of M where M is the number of independent samples. The value of the scaling exponent depends on the performance measure. ν ≃ 0.5001 for root mean squared error measure while ν ≃ 0.2743 for misclassification rate measure. The efficiency of this strategy is demonstrated for the sparse Hopfield model, but the method is generally applicable to other diluted mean field models. In particular, it is simple in implementation without heavy computational cost.

Hopfield neural network based algorithms for image restoration and reconstruction. II. Performance analysis
In this paper, we analyze four typical sequential Hopfield neural network (HNN) based algorithms for image restoration and reconstruction, which are the modified HNN (PK) algorithm, the HNN (ZCVJ) algorithm with energy checking, the eliminating-highest-error (EHE) algorithm, and the simulated annealing (SA) algorithm. A new measure, the correct transition probability (CTP), is proposed for perf...

We address a new efficient robust optimisation approach to large-scale environmental image reconstruction/enhancement as required for remote sensing imaging with multi-spectral array sensors/SAR. Compressive sensing (CS) has proved effective for tomographic reconstruction from sparsely collected data or under-sampled measurements, which are practically important for few-view CT, tomosynthesis, interior tomography, and so on. To perform sparse-data CT, the iterative reconstruction commonly use regularizers in the CS framework. Currently, how to choose the parameters adaptively for regula...

A novel reconstruction technique, called Wiener Filtered Reconstruction Technique (WIRT), for sparse-data tomographic imaging is introduced. This six-step method applies a spatially varying constrained leastsquares filter combined with a regularization method based on total variation. The WIRT reconstruction is implemented in the frequency domain, where the information based on measurements and...
